We pride ourselves on staying true to traditional methods of production that we were taught by the late Robbie Slape.

To this day, we still use traditional mincers, rather then emulsifiers to produce a consistent, coarse cut, quality product. As a family business, we highly value our loyal staff, some who have been with us for nearly 30 years.

Slape & Sons is a family owned and operated business located in Newton, South Australia, which supplies products throughout supermarkets and foodservice chains in SA, QLD, NSW, VIC, ACT, NT & WA.

The business is managed by 2nd generation brothers Paul and Philip Slape, and now has 4 members of the 3rd generation involved.

With strong family values behind the business, it has established a name for providing high quality premium sausages, burgers, rissoles, chevapchichi’s and more.

    Robert Slape (Robbie) began his butcher’s apprenticeship at the age of 14

  • 1965 - The Beginning

    Robbie opened his first shop in St Peters, South Australia, and began ‘Robbie Slape Sausages’

  • 1981-1982 - Paul & Philip

    1981-1982

    Both sons, Philip and Paul entered the business to help grow the business

  • 1988 - Slape & Sons Sausages

    1988

    After expanding the business, relocated to a larger premise in Tranmere, South Australia, where the shop was re-named ‘Slape & Sons Sausages’.

  • 1996 - A New Facility

    Relocated again to Newton, South Australia into a large purpose-built facility

  • 2006 - Queensland Depot

    2006

    Expanding with a new depot opening in QLD

  • 2009 - Robbie’s Retirement

    Robbie retired; Paul & Philip continued as Managing Directors

  • 2013-2016 - A New Generation

    2013-2016

    Paul’s daughter Vanessa and Philip’s sons, Lachlan, Hayden and Samuel joined the business respectively.

  • 2015 - 50 Year Anniversary
